Indore, the top producer and consumer of plastic in Madhya Pradesh, will soon have its own Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) Center. This initiative aims to support the city's thriving plastics industry, which exports polymers and finished goods.

Indore's status as a major plastics hub prompted the Indian Plast Pack Forum (IPPF) to propose the establishment of a CIPET Center in the city. The organization met with senior CIPET officials and hosted a meeting with representatives from across the country to discuss the project.

Government officials, including P. Raghavendra Rao (Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals), Joint Secretary Kashi Nath Jha, and CIPET Director General Professor Dr. SK Nayak, visited Indore to assess the need for the center. They also inspected the city's waste management and disposal facilities, appreciating Indore's efforts in this area.

on Behalf of IPPF members, President Sachin Bansal, actively advocated for the center, highlighting its potential benefits for both Indore and the entire state. The officials expressed their support for the project, with Mr. Rao promising to facilitate the necessary permissions. Mr. Jha confirmed the immediate approval for acquiring the required equipment and machines. Professor Dr. Nayak assured that the authorities would issue all necessary guidelines for opening the center soon.

The IPPF submitted a detailed report outlining the rationale for the center and its expected impact on the state's plastic industry. Mr. Bansal emphasized that Indore's large concentration of plastic product manufacturers and its developed industrial environment make it the ideal location for the center. Currently, companies in Indore must rely on the Bhopal CIPET, which is inconvenient and inefficient.

The establishment of a CIPET Center in Indore is a significant development for the city's plastic industry. It will provide local businesses with access to essential resources, expertise, and training, promoting innovation and competitiveness. This, in turn, will contribute to the growth of the industry and generate new employment opportunities in the region.
